Homosapien is a melodic death metal band from South Africa. Its lineup consists of Nic Franks (Vocals, Guitars) and Kieran Tavener-Smith (Guitars, Bass, Programming).

Homosapien draws influence from the classic thrash metal of Metallica and Megadeth, blended with the melodic death metal of Children of Bodom, In Flames, and At the Gates, alongside elements of 1980s glam metal such as Mötley Crüe and W.A.S.P. The result is a polished sound built around aggressive riffs, strong hooks, and twin-guitar melody, delivered through a slick, modern production.

Homosapien released its self-titled debut album in October 2024. The album was followed by live performances supporting the release. A second album, Dead King’s Portrait, is currently in development and scheduled for release in 2026.
